Birdwatching in Seward Alaska

Migratory Birding Tour

Seward, Alaska is an ideal setting for spotting migratory birds on their way to northern nesting areas and for birds returning to make their home in the Resurrection Bay watershed.  We offer the opportunity for bird watchers and seekers to sight a variety of birds in the wetlands, Kenai Fjords National Park, Resurrection Bay and the surrounding temperate rain forest.

The tour we offer is approximately 3 hours and hits all the "hot spots" known to our local watchers.  Our guide has been an Alaskan resident for 33 years and a birder longer than that.  He began his Alaskan birding experience near the Arctic Circle in the Inuit Eskimo village of Selawik where he lived with his family year round for 12 years.  He has lived and birded in Seward for 19 years where he retired from public education.  With transportation included, he will take you on a journey to the areas he knows will provide a fun and rewarding birding experience.

Some of the birds you may see include: *Chestnut-backed, Black-capped and Boreal Chickadees, Pine Grosbeaks’, White-winged and Red Crossbills, Trumpeter and Tundra Swans, Common Loons, Sandhill Cranes, Bald Eagles, Arctic Terns, *Horned and Tufted Puffins, Rufus-back Hummingbirds, Dunlins, Willow and Rock Ptarmigan,*American Golden Plovers and a variety of warblers and waterfowl.  We can cater to specific birds to add to your life list.

Given the high cost of most birding tours, we wanted to provide a quality experience at an affordable price.  At $105 per person you will get the insider take on Seward's birding community.  Not only are these spots great for birding, they also offer some of the most beautiful scenery in Alaska.

Reservations are made by appointment, so call or email today to set up an afternoon of migratory birding enjoyment.

Price: $105 per person. Groups of six or more should call for group rate.

Tour Season: This trip runs during spring and into early summer. Please call us for details.
