After a couple of long days, we've finished faming our new shop. We also learned how to do some serious replumbing of water mains (way to go Fisher, booyah!) and started wiring the shop's electrical outlets.
Many thanks to Alan for the use of his framing nailgun and compressor. Without those, this project would have been daunting — at best - but with them, framing the basement was breezy.

Welcome to 2012, everyone! So, after a month of settling in and getting some early-season ski bugs out of the system, we have started construction on the new shop. The pictures in this post are all pre-remodeling (fairly obvious, I suppose). I'll be posting more photos as progress continues.

So, Captain Crampon, Chris (Liquid Adventures) and I took some newly acquired paddleboards down Resurrection River, a 7 mile long braided river system in the area. I have this to say; paddleboarding rules.

So, we finally got swept forward by the momentum of social networks and jumped into the labyrinthine gauntlet that is Facebook. We tried to resist, but of course... the futility of those efforts needs not be spoken of in this forum.
I, however, am surprised at the amount of pictures that we are getting to see from this venture into MyFace – I mean Facebook. For example, check out this amazing shot from Jenna Heller:

For me, anytime I need information on a place or activity I jump on the internet and Google it. Instantly the info is on the computer screen in font of me. I haven’t looked in a phone book in months, and it’s been years since I read the classifieds in the newspaper. I can’t really be sure if this shift in information gathering happened gradually or if one day I typed something into a search engine and that was that.

According to TripAdvisor editors, we are one of the top ten adventure tours in the world! We just found out about this through word of mouth last night, and when we looked into it, it's true. Here's the link to the article.

I had a thought today while brewing up a hot batch of veggie fuel for the shuttle that we've been running a long time on Wast Veggie Oil (WVO), and that there must be a lot of miles clocked on our alternative fuel source at this point. When Nate returned from a run in Roxy (our vegetable powered shuttle) to the glacier on a shuttle trip, I jumped into the driver's seat and scoped out the mileage. We've officially traveled about 40,500 miles primarily on WVO as of today.

...kind of. We bumped out a wall this season, and moved another one back, and now the shop has twice as much space for us to receive clients. Good thing, because this looks to be a busy season.

Gotta love the early season. While we're waiting for the summer crush to hit us at the shop, Ryan and I took advantage of the downtime and went on a seriously cool adventure with our good buddy Jeff from Sunday to Monday.
