New for 2008 - This year, we are proud to announce the introduction of a WVO (Waste Veggie Oil) powered shuttle that will take over most of the transportation services that our shop provides. We are cutting the carbon emissions of our shuttle service by over 95% simply by re-using a substance that is normally thrown away. We would also like to mention that our new shuttle, Roxanne, is larger and much more comfortable than our trusty old van, Duke could ever hope to be. So this year, ride to the park in comfort, style, and a clear conscience.
For those that don't have five hours to devote to our tour, or for those who prefer to see the glacier in a more leisurely or independent fashion, Exit Glacier Guides offers an affordable, hourly shuttle from Seward's small boat harbor to the park and back. Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park has several short, paved/gravel promenades that lead up to the face of the glacier from the park's parking lot. These trails are not difficult, and most visitors can see the majority of the lower park in well under two hours at a relaxed pace, although much more time can be spent exploring the area. The shuttle departure times are coordinated with the free tours of the lower park that are given by the rangers several times a day, so you'll be there right as the rangers depart the nature center. The rangers also offer a children's program during the day. Click here for the park's web site.
Price: $10 Round Trip for shuttle ride.
Departs: Shuttle leaves from the Train Wreck in the Seward Small Boat Harbor, Every hour on the half hour, from 8:30- 4:30, May 25th through Mid-September.
