About:

Steve here!  Also known by my beloved peers as Mack.  This summer will be my 4th season in Alaska and 3rd summer working for Exit Glacier Guides here in Seward.  I just finished my inaugural winter in Alaska, and despite it being unusually warm, had a blast traveling the state, climbing and making new friends.  I'm originally from a small town called Massena in northern New York and attended college at SUNY Oneonta, where I earned a B.S. in Water Resources.

The Adirondack mountains are where my love for the outdoors was discovered at a young age, and in my senior year of college, I was introduced to ice climbing.  Since then, I have spent the past 5 years chasing frozen waterfalls, sunny rock, powdery slopes, and ribbons of singletrack throughout the US and Canada.

Along with living in NY and AK, I have also called UT and CA home at various points in time.  I am a firm believer that stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new can be on of the most terrifying, but rewarding things you can experience.  Life is one big adventure, so where will it take you next?!
